Senior Legal Officer (Contentious)

Job Overview

You must be an admitted solicitor or a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. The post would suit someone newly qualified who wishes to specialise in local authority law, housing, licensing and prosecutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level legal advice to officers and elected members.
• Undertake and/or defend criminal and civil litigation proceedings in the courts, with proven experience in detailed examination of evidence leading to litigation or other legal action.
• Provide advice on licensing matters and attend hearings of Licensing and Appeal Sub-Committee.
