We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (Domiciliary) to provide high-quality care to individuals in their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to support clients with a variety of needs, including elderly care, disability support, and specialised dementia or Alzheimer’s care. The successful candidate will be committed to promoting independence and wellbeing, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all clients.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
• Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
• Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.
• Assist with specialised care needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, or behavioural management.
• Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
• Monitor and record health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
• Support with light physical activities or exercises to promote mobility and wellbeing.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid measures.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is desirable.
• Knowledge of patient care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care practices.
• Certification in first aid and basic life support is advantageous.
• Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely between client locations.
• Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages, including children and the elderly.
• Assist with mobility support.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage behavioural challenges effectively.
• Organisation skills for medication management and documentation compliance.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as required by client needs.
