Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum.

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer & CNC Programmer to join a growing precision engineering business supporting high‑specification aerospace and defence projects.

This is a hands‑on role focused on new product introduction, process optimisation, and the generation of CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5‑axis machine tools.

CNC Programmer – Key Responsibilities

• Create and prove CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software.
• Develop manufacturing processes, tooling strategies, and production routings.
• Produce setup sheets, tooling plans, and process documentation.
• Support new product introduction and process validation activities.
• Work closely with Quality and Production teams to ensure robust process control.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, cost reduction projects, and productivity improvements.
• Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.

CNC Programmer – Requirements

• Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Proven experience within a precision engineering manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace or defence.
• Strong understanding of machining processes including milling and turning.
• Experience generating CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5‑axis CNC machine tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with Fusion 360 or similar CAD/CAM software desirable.
• Green Belt and project management experience advantageous.
