Role Overview
The ARP provision at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth seeks a dedicated SEN Teacher for a small class of 6–8 pupils with Special Educational Needs. The role focuses on delivering highly personalised learning experiences that enable every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets and learning needs.
- Lead a small class of 6–8 pupils with SEND.
- Create a nurturing, structured and positive learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs and external agencies.
- Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress.
- Develop personalised intervention programmes to support academic and personal development.
- Foster strong relationships with parents and carers.
- Support pupils’ communication, social interaction, independence and emotional wellbeing.
Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, either in mainstream or specialist settings.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
- Understands the importance of adaptive teaching and personalised learning.
- Is patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education.
- Works collaboratively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
- Has knowledge of Autism, Speech & Language needs, Complex Needs or other SEND areas (desirable but not essential).
