Personal Assistant – RCGH

Overview

• Area: Gateshead
• Hours: 2 x 3 hours, varying weekdays (school holidays only)
• Rate: £14.04 per hour

About the Client

The client is an 18-year-old male who is full of energy and humour. He has a diagnosis of autism and severe learning difficulties. He is nonverbal but communicates via a communication aid. He has no sense of danger and may abscond if given the opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the client on activities outside the home, such as swimming, library visits, the local farm, or play parks.
• Work 2:1 alongside another member of staff.
• Provide a small amount of personal care as required.
• Support safe and enjoyable participation in planned activities while monitoring for risk.
• Additional hours may become available in the near future.

Qualifications

• At the start of employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
