Position: Test Technician
Location: St Ives
Salary: £31,000 – £32,000
Hours: 08:00am – 16:45pm Mon-Thurs – Fri 08:00-12:30pm
Proactive are currently in search of an experienced Test Technician to work for electronics manufacturer based in St. Ives- Immediate Start Available. This is an exciting opportunity offering ample opportunity for progression and development. As a Test Technician you will be required to perform functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and finished company products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and finished products.
- Diagnose and fault-find down to component level on analogue and digital electronic circuits.
- Use test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analysers, and power supplies.
- Record test results, repair actions, and non‑conformances in accordance with company procedures.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
- Liaise with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all work complies with quality standards, ESD procedures, and health and safety requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in electronic test based work.
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills to component level.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and engineering drawings.
- Experience using Oscilloscopes, Digital multimeters (DMM), Signal/function generators, Bench power supplies, Logic analysers (desirable).
- Good attention to detail and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
