Training and Education Manager

The UK Clinical Research Facility (UKCRF) Network supports over 55 CRFs across the UK and Ireland. It provides operational guidance, study placement support, industry and charity partnership facilitation, workforce training and tools to enable efficient and safe delivery of early phase and complex trials.
Operating within a rapidly changing NHS and national clinical research landscape, the Network supports workforce capability through high‑quality training, educational resources, and operational tools.
Main Duties of the Job
Lead the development and delivery of training programmes, educational resources, and workforce development initiatives that support clinical research delivery and national priorities.
Work closely with CRF Directors, Managers, Education Leads and national stakeholders to develop training programmes, educational resources, operational tools and guidance for high‑quality clinical research delivery across the UK and Ireland.
Support workforce capability, promote best practice and contribute to national initiatives that improve study set‑up and delivery.
Identify training needs, support adoption of Network resources and collaborate with partners across the research infrastructure to maximise impact and reach.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Professional registration in healthcare or professional qualification in education/training
- Postgraduate level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent level of specialist knowledge and experience gained through extensive professional practice
Knowledge
- Extensive specialist knowledge of clinical research regulations, governance and legislation (including GCP and UK regulatory frameworks) and a broad understanding of clinical trial design and delivery
- Specialist knowledge of adult learning principles and training programme development
- Specialist knowledge of Clinical Research Facilities (CRFs) and NIHR Experimental Medicine and ATIMP infrastructure
- Awareness of national priorities such as the Life Sciences Strategy
Experience
- Experience of designing, coordinating and delivering education and training programmes with evidence of impact or improvement
- Experience of managing projects, activities or initiatives to meet objectives within a dynamic environment using appropriate IT tools
- Experience of coordinating teams, stakeholders or colleagues to deliver outcomes, including influencing and advising where appropriate
- Experience of facilitating peer learning, mentoring or train-the-trainer programmes
Contract and Compensation
- Fixed term, 3 years
- Annual salary: £49,387 to £56,515, pro rata
- Full‑time with flexible working, home or remote working allowed
