DFG Grants Officer – Hackney Council

Fox Morris Group are working to recruit a DFG Grants Officer

Experience:

• Experience in administering DFG’s and interpreting recommendations provided by an Occupational Therapist
• A knowledge of building construction and ability to draw up a schedule of works required for a disabled facility grant based on an inspection
• Experience of carrying out financial means test assessments
• A knowledge of the Housing, Grants Construction and Regeneration Act which governs the process of DFG’s.
• Experience of surveying residential properties and preparing specifications, drawings, and schedules of work.
• A strong understanding of building construction, building regulations, and health & safety
• Experience of managing adaptation or improvement projects, ideally including Disabled Facilities Grants
• The ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, architects, and internal teams, and to resolve issues on site.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and accessible design.
• A good knowledge of government benefits
• Experience of dealing with vulnerable adults and children
• Experience of lone working
