Purchasing Manager

We are working with an established client in Co. Fermanagh to recruit an experienced and proactive Purchasing Manager to join their team.

The Purchasing Manager will lead a centralised purchasing team, overseeing sourcing, supplier management, and daily procurement across multiple divisions. The role focuses on standardising procurement processes, maximising group purchasing power, and reducing supply risks to support multi-site manufacturing operations

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading a centralised team of buyers by setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, and supporting professional development.
  • Consolidating purchasing requirements across multiple business units to maximise buying power and negotiate group-wide supplier agreements.
  • Establishing supplier SLAs that meet divisional production schedules, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, divisional managers, and engineering to qualify new suppliers and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs and dashboards, proactively addressing delivery and quality issues to minimise production risk.
  • Maintaining vendor, item, and inventory data integrity, including reviewing and updating supplier records and min/max stock levels across sites.
  • Supporting ERP system integrity and the transition to Business Central while promoting effective system use across the purchasing team.
  • Applying expertise in MRP, ERP, and supply chain best practices to optimise procurement operations.
  • Managing international procurement activities by ensuring compliance with customs regulations, logistics requirements, and post-Brexit UK trade processes.

What you will need to have for the Purchasing Manager role:

  • 3 years previous experience in buying, procurement or supply chain management
  • Previous supervision experience essential
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to analyse cost scenarios and manage departmental budgets
