Senior Software Engineer – Webex Real‑time Media Engineering Group

Our Webex Real‑time Media Engineering Group is redefining the future of collaboration. We’re building a world where people connect effortlessly across devices and locations, powering Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center.

Location: Central London office near Liverpool Street station. We operate a hybrid model with in‑office collaboration three times a week.

Responsibilities

• Full Lifecycle Development: Design, develop, test, and deliver new features and improvements to our products in an agile team.
• DevOps & Microservices: Manage the operational side of our highly available micro‑service architecture and participate in on‑call rotation.
• Adaptable & Problem‑Solver: Tackle varied and challenging problems daily, with a data‑driven focus on quality and rapid skill acquisition.
• Ownership & Quality: Take responsibility for tasks—from building functionality to creating automated tests and investigating issues—maintaining high attention to detail.
• AI: Use AI tools in daily workflow for productivity and contribute to new AI scenarios and opportunities.
• Support & Growth: Receive mentorship, formal training, and support from fellow engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in an analytical subject (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics).
• 10+ years of professional programming experience in C++/C# and willingness to learn new languages.
• Experience with Linux development and running software on Linux.
• Experience with virtualisation and containers, including Docker.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Windows development.
• Experience with data science / AI.
• Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP).
• Exposure to cryptography.
• Familiarity with audio and video coding (e.g., Opus, H.264).
• Familiarity with Git, DevOps, continuous integration, continuous delivery.
