The RoleReporting to the Employer Engagement management team, the Employer Engagement Officer will act as the primary point of contact for employers within the construction sector, developing new business opportunities whilst managing and growing existing accounts.This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same. You will be engaging with new and existing employers, understanding workforce development needs and promoting a range of training solutions that deliver value to both businesses and learners.
Typical responsibilities include:Developing new business opportunities through proactive sales activity, networking and employer engagementBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with construction employers across the regionPromoting apprenticeships, commercial training programmes, distance learning opportunities and funded training solutionsManaging employer accounts and identifying opportunities for growth and additional servicesProviding advice on available funding streams and the most appropriate training solutionsPreparing proposals, presentations, bids and tender submissionsAttending employer meetings, networking events and industry forumsMaintaining accurate CRM records and managing a healthy sales pipelineProducing forecasts and reports to support performance monitoringWorking closely with marketing and curriculum teams to ensure employer needs are metSupporting employer satisfaction activities and responding promptly to enquiries
The successful Employer Engagement Officer will become a trusted advisor to employers, providing a responsive and professional service that encourages long-term partnerships with our client.
RequirementsWe are looking for a confident business development professional with strong relationship-building skills and a passion for supporting the construction sector.
To be successful, you will have:Significant experience in business development, sales or employer engagementA proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targetsExperience generating new business through cold calling and other sales activityExperience managing employer accounts and developing long-term business relationshipsKnowledge and understanding of the construction sectorExcellent communication, negotiation and presentation skillsExperience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelinesStrong objection-handling and closing skillsFull UK driving licence and access to transportA willingness to travel as required
This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has been a Business Development Executive, Employer Engagement Officer, Account Manager, Apprenticeship Sales Consultant or Business Development Manager within a training, education, construction, apprenticeship or skills-based environment.
