Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm

Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm

Early finish every Friday

The Role

As a Metal Polisher / Linisher, you will be responsible for preparing, finishing and polishing fabricated metal components to a high cosmetic standard. You will work with a variety of metals, ensuring finished products meet customer specifications and quality requirements. The successful candidate will also be required to safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move materials and finished products around the workshop.

Duties Include

• Linishing and polishing fabricated metal components
• Removing weld marks, scratches and surface imperfections
• Achieving brushed, satin and mirror finishes where required
• Polishing aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel and other metals
• Grinding, fettling and deburring components
• Using belt linishers, polishing machines, angle grinders and other finishing equipment
• Loading, unloading and moving materials using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
• Transporting finished products safely within the workshop
• Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Working from engineering drawings and job specifications where required
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Following company health and safety procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Metal Polisher, Linisher, Metal Finisher or Fettler
• Experience working with stainless steel, aluminium and other fabricated metals
• A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence is essential
• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Competent using hand tools, power tools and polishing equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and able to work to production deadlines
