ABOUT THE ROLE

n

n

We're supporting a growing consultancy delivering mission-critical technology solutions across the UK National Security sector.

n

n

They're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects spanning areas such as AI, Data, Cyber, Cloud, Software Development, DevOps and Platform Engineering.

n

n

This is a varied role covering the full project lifecycle, from early-stage R&D and bids through to delivery and project closure.

n

n

THE ROLE

n

n

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of complex technical projects, working closely with customers, technical teams, partners and internal stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

n

You'll also have a strong role in business growth, supporting bids and identifying opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.

n

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

n

n
• Lead projects from concept through to successful delivery and closure

n

• Manage delivery against agreed time, cost, quality and contractual requirements

n

• Lead and contribute to technical bids and proposals

n

• Build and manage high-performing multidisciplinary project teams

n

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, resources and financial performance

n

• Develop strong relationships with customers, partners and suppliers

n

• Manage project plans, requirements, dependencies, risks and opportunities

n

• Work closely with technical teams across software, cloud, cyber, data and engineering

n

• Apply the right delivery approach across Agile, Waterfall and hybrid environments

n

• Identify follow-on opportunities and support account growth

n

• Provide effective leadership in fast-moving and technically complex environments

n

n

n

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

n

n

n
• Proven experience managing complex technology or engineering projects

n

• Experience working within National Security, Defence, Government or similarly secure environments

n

• Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies

n

• Experience managing technical projects involving software, hardware or integrated solutions

n

• Strong commercial and financial management skills

n

• Excellent stakeholder management across customers, technical teams, partners and senior leadership

n

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

n

• Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadline-driven environments

n

• Strong technical awareness and understanding of modern engineering practices

n

• Enhanced DV clearance

n

n

n

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

n

n

n
• Experience managing R&D or early-stage technology projects

n

• Experience supporting technical bids and proposals

n

• Background in AI, Data, Cyber, Cloud, DevOps, Software or Platform Engineering

n

• Experience identifying and developing follow-on commercial opportunities APMP, PMP or equivalent project management qualification

n
