We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established HGV maintenance company with depots across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced HGV Technician to their Crawley workshop. The Role:
As an HGV Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles and specialist airport equipment. Working alongside a skilled workshop team, your duties will include:
- Carrying out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance
- Conducting vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Completing reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections
- Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards
Vehicles & Equipment You’ll Work On:
This is a varied role where you’ll gain experience working on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including:
- Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
- Aircraft tugs
- Baggage trolleys
- Electric vehicles (EVs)
- Vans
- HGVs
- Minibuses
- Airport shuttle buses
- Specialist airport vehicles
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Class 1 (C+E) licence is advantageous but not essential
