As a Policy Officer Intern,you’llplay a pivotal role in ensuring that Adult Social Care & Health (ASCH) staff have access to clear,up to dateand meaningful information on policy and plansthat support theirday-to-dayroles. You will play an important role in undertaking research of national policy and legislative changes, analysing implications and coordinating feedback with operational teams. You will work closely with the Policy Unit, the wider Policy and Strategic Development Team, and teams from across the ASCH department to develop and coordinate plans and policydocuments that underpin organisational and departmental priorities and legallycompliantservices.

Much likeadult social care itself, the role is broad,fastpacedand helps ASCH meet its statutory duties and make a meaningful difference to practitioners and the people they support.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Clear,confidentand concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyse information, think critically and consider wider implications across the department
  • Ability to use technology such asMicrosoft 365 (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word)

Please note this is a 6-month fixed term opportunity. If you are interested in this role as a secondment, please ensure you have the agreement of your line manager before applying.
