The Role

To support effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients within a ward environment. The role involves ensuring that patients’ health records are administered and processed accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS)

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

  • Permanent. part-time
  • Shift pattern – Monday & Friday 8.00-15.42
  • Base location – Glasgow Royal Infirmary

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Health Records support within ward environments.
  • Ensure accurate administration and processing of patient health records.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Cover administrative duties across multiple wards when required.
  • Receive and assist patients attending the ward.
  • Answer telephone enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Book appointments as required.
  • Maintain and update patient demographic information on the patient management system.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

  • Previous clerical and/or reception experience.
  • Experience working with the general public in a customer service environment.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good keyboard and IT skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer systems.
