Customs Coordinator (12-Month Maternity Cover)
Location: RG24 8AG Up to 34,000 DOE
The Opportunity
A well-established and growing logistics business is seeking a Customs Coordinator to join their team on a 12-month maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a fast-paced environment where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods across international borders.
You’ll be working as part of an experienced customs team, handling a variety of import and export entries while ensuring full compliance with UK customs regulations.
The Role
- Prepare and submit customs declarations (imports & exports)
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and international trade requirements
- Liaise with clients, hauliers, and internal teams to coordinate shipments
- Handle documentation checks and resolve any discrepancies
- Monitor shipments and respond to any customs-related queries
- Work with systems such as CDS and other customs platforms
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Customs Coordinator / Customs Clerk role
- Strong understanding of UK customs procedures (imports & exports)
- Experience using CDS / customs systems
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
