Healthcare Assistant / Care Worker – Bath

As a Healthcare Assistant, your duties may include working with another carer in a private care home, providing dedicated 1:1 support to an allocated resident/service user, and delivering care within the community.

Skills:

1. Compassionate, caring and respectful approach
2. Experience supporting elderly people and individuals living with dementia
3. Ability to provide safe and attentive 1:1 care
4. Good observation and risk-awareness skills
5. Clear spoken and written English
6. Ability to complete accurate care notes and hourly 1:1 documentation
7. Safe moving and handling skills, including use of hoists and transfer equipment
8. Good communication with residents, families, nurses and other care professionals
9. Ability to follow care plans, risk assessments and professional instructions
10. Understanding of safeguarding and duty of care
11. Infection prevention and control awareness
12. Ability to promote dignity, independence and choice
13. Calm approach when supporting distressed or challenging individuals
14. Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
15. Strong teamwork skills when providing care with another carer
16. Good time management, particularly when completing community visits
17. Ability to recognise and report changes in a service user’s health or behaviour
18. Medication prompting or support experience, where appropriately trained
19. Flexible approach to day, night, weekend and bank-holiday shifts
