We are currently recruiting for Street Scene & Waste Operative for our client based in Plymouth.

As a Street Scene & Waste Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe environment by supporting waste collection and street cleansing services. Working as part of a busy waste management team, you will assist with the collection of households, commercial, and bulky waste while providing a reliable and efficient service to customers.

• Work as part of a refuse collection crew, supporting the driver with daily waste collection duties.
• Safely collect and present household and commercial waste bins to the collection vehicle for emptying.
• Return emptied bins to the appropriate location, ensuring they are placed safely and considerately for residents and businesses.
• Assist with the collection and loading of bulky waste items from domestic and commercial properties.
• Handle waste and recyclable materials in accordance with health and safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Ensure waste is collected efficiently while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Report any missed collections, damaged bins, contaminated waste, or health and safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Support street scene operations by helping to maintain clean public spaces when required.
• Follow all manual handling procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Work effectively as part of a team to complete collection routes within agreed timescales.
• Adhere to all company policies, health and safety regulations, and safe working practices.
• Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by management.
