Winner Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Metal Processing Operative to join a well-established specialist metals company based in Barnsley.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in metal processing, recycling, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments who is looking for a stable, long-term position with competitive pay and shift allowance.
The Role
As a Metal Processing Operative, you will be responsible for processing and preparing a range of metals and alloys using industrial machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating metal processing machinery safely and efficiently
- Cutting, shearing and sawing various metals
- Sorting and grading metals and materials
- Operating plasma cutting and other processing equipment
- Loading and unloading materials
- Checking materials for quality and contamination
- Carrying out basic machinery checks and reporting faults
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Following all Health & Safety procedures
- Working as part of a busy production team
- Meeting daily production and quality targets
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within metal processing, recycling, manufacturing or heavy industry
- Experience operating industrial machinery
- A good understanding of Health & Safety
- A strong work ethic and reliable attitude
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to work as part of a team
- A willingness to undertake physical/manual work
- Flexibility to work shift patterns
FLT, overhead crane or other machinery experience would be advantageous, although training may be available for the right candidate.
