Group Financial Accountant

Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester | Hybrid: 2 days in office per week

Reporting to: Financial Controller

About the Opportunity

Are you a qualified finance professional who enjoys turning financial data into meaningful insight? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Group Management Accountant to join our Group Finance team and play a key role in monthly reporting, consolidation, variance analysis, audit support, and continuous improvement across an international finance environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare monthly consolidated group reporting packs.
• Analyse actual results against budgets and forecasts, investigating and explaining key variances.
• Drive and develop balance sheet controls and reporting improvements.
• Work with our international finance team to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent reporting.
• Support statutory audit and tax processes, including managing and coordinating support provisions, answering queries, and preparing group consolidation adjustments.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting files, systems, and financial controls.
• Provide financial insight and respond to ad hoc queries from senior stakeholders, internal teams, and external advisers.

What We’re Looking For

Essential experience and skills:

• Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial performance clearly.
• Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with financial reporting systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with international teams or in a group reporting environment.
• Experience supporting audits and year-end processes.
• Exposure to business transformation projects.
• Knowledge of cashflow forecasting and treasury principles.
• Experience working with and integrating AI into process to drive efficiency
