Wehave an exciting opportunity for an experienced OccupationalTherapist to join our team at Nelson House as a Senior OccupationalTherapist. This is a great opportunity for either a SeniorOccupational Therapist looking for a more fulfilling role, or anexperienced Occupational Therapist ready for the next step in theircareer. Working 30 hours per week, we can offer flexibility on thedays worked however Fridays will be a coreday.
Located inGosport, Hampshire, Priory Hospital Nelson House is arehabilitation service which offers both level 1 and level 2 care,supporting males presenting with complex mental health conditionswho may also have behaviours that challenge and substance misuseissues.
What you’ll bedoing
As a Senior OccupationalTherapist, you’ll play a key role in helping patients achievegreater independence and improved quality of life through personcentred, evidence based care.
You’ll manage a caseload of patients withcomplex mental health, neurological and physical needs, deliveringspecialist assessments and tailored treatment plans while workingclosely with the multidisciplinary team. You’ll also lead anddevelop a small therapy team, including one Occupational TherapyAssistant and one Activities Coordinator, providing clinicalsupervision, guidance and support.
You’ll oversee equipment and dischargeassessments, contribute to service improvements, and ensure thehighest standards of clinical practice, documentation and patientcare. You will also work with carers and alongside the MedicalDirector will be responsible for the carersgroup.

What you’ll bring tothe role
We are seeking aknowledgeable, energetic and personable Occupational Therapist whoputs patients at the heart of everything theydo.
You must beHCPC registered and hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or adegree, honours degree, or Master’s in Occupational Therapy, orhave completed formal postgraduate study (award or non-awardbearing). You must also have prior experience working inmental health services as a qualified member of staff, experiencesupervising Occupational Therapists or Occupational TherapyAssistants and students, and training in relevant models ofpractice such as MoHO, VdTMoCA, and SensoryIntegration.
