We are looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistants to support a wonderful 10-year-old boy with complex needs.
He is a sweet little boy who enjoys horse riding, trips to the park, trampoline parks, cars, trains and days out at the seaside. He also loves watching Disney favourites such as Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. He thrives on routine, enjoys using his Kindle, spending time with his older sister, and loves plenty of cuddles.
The role involves supporting him to access activities within the community while providing the care and reassurance he needs to enjoy new experiences safely and confidently. Support is provided on a 2:1 basis, meaning you will always be with another PA or parent.
We are looking for kind, patient and dependable individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in a young person’s life. If you enjoy helping children to have fun, build confidence and access their community, we would love to hear from you.
Duties include:
- Eating and drinking assistance
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
- Transportation
- Companionship
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance
Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
Additional requirements
- Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
