Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a Local Authority based in Merseyside, who are seeking an experienced Employment Law Solicitor to join their Legal Services team on a contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional looking for a flexible, part-time position within local government. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, with a primary focus on Employment Law, while also having the opportunity to support the wider legal team across other areas when required.
Location: Merseyside / Hybrid – 1 day in the office and 3 days working from home
Contract: 3 months Ongoing
Hours: 28 hours per week, across 4 days
Umbrella Rate: £50 – £55 per hour
PAYE Rate (including holiday pay): £44.45 – £48.89 per hour
Responsibilities as an Employment Solicitor:
- Managing a varied caseload of Employment Law matters from initial instruction through to conclusion.
- Providing clear, accurate and practical legal advice to Council departments, managers and other internal clients.
- Advising on a broad range of employment-related matters, including employee relations, disciplinary and grievance issues, dismissals, discrimination and Employment Tribunal claims.
- Representing the Council at Employment Tribunal preliminary hearings and assisting with the preparation and presentation of cases.
