Vocational Skills Instructor – Plymouth Pathways
We are currently looking for a Post 16 Vocational Skills Instructor to deliver any vocational subject. As a mentor you will plan and deliver learning programmes to small groups or one to one, virtually and face to face to enable them to explore and assess their own skills and progress their functional skills.
As a Vocational Skills Instructor, you will deliver engaging and inclusive learning programmes to small groups and individual learners, both face-to-face and online. You will support learners to develop vocational, employability and personal skills while working closely with families, employers, schools, local authorities and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality teaching and learning sessions
- Supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Conducting assessments, setting targets and monitoring learner progress
- Embedding English, maths and digital skills within learning activities
- Providing pastoral support and person-centred guidance
- Developing work experience and community engagement opportunities
- Maintaining accurate learner records and documentation
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and partner organisations
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and equality at all times
