Vision for Education is looking for an enthusiastic Education Cover Assistant to join schools in the Wotton-under-Edge area.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play a key role in supporting learning across different subjects. As an Education Cover Assistant, you will help maintain continuity of education by supervising classes when teachers are unavailable.
You will work from lesson plans and resources provided by teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and focused. You will encourage a positive classroom atmosphere, support students with their work and help create a consistent learning experience.
The role provides excellent experience for anyone looking to develop a career in education, particularly those interested in becoming a teacher, teaching assistant or wider school support professional.
The role involves:
- Leading classes in the absence of the subject teacher
- Delivering structured activities and pre-planned work
- Supporting students across KS3 and KS4
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- Ensuring students remain on task throughout lessons
- Following school safeguarding procedures
- Working alongside teachers and support staff
Requirements
To be successful in this Education Cover Assistant role, you will need:
- Experience working with young people in some capacity
- Confidence supervising groups of students
- The ability to remain calm and professional
- Good organisation and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- A commitment to helping students succeed
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
