Role Introduction and Overview An opportunity has arisen for a Transportation Engineer to join a leading global Engineering Consultant and assist with Landowner Liaison in a supporting role on a major greenway infrastructure project in Donegal.
This role will suit professionals searching for a mix of office and site based, with a focus on route selection, initial design and planning application phase.
Working across the project route and based from Lifford or Donegal Town, you will support the project team in maintaining positive relationships with landowners and stakeholders throughout the planning and construction phases. The successful candidate will assist with finalising route selection, planning application, securing land access for surveys and other project activities, gathering information relating to land conditions, and ensuring landowner concerns and feedback are effectively communicated to the wider project team.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in infrastructure, agriculture, construction, stakeholder engagement or land management who enjoys working outdoors, building relationships and contributing to the successful delivery of a major linear infrastructure project. You will work closely with experienced land and stakeholder management professionals, gaining valuable exposure to all aspects of landowner liaison and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day liaison activities with landowners and stakeholders along the proposed infrastructure route.
- Assist in securing land access for surveys and other project-related activities.
- Gather information relating to land conditions, including soil types, drainage requirements and access arrangements.
- Spend time on site engaging directly with landowners and stakeholders to understand local concerns and requirements.
- Record and communicate stakeholder feedback accurately to the project team to support design, planning and construction activities.
- Assist in coordinating matters relating to land access, drainage, temporary works and other site impacts.
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused and solutions-driven approach to stakeholder engagement.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- A qualification in Agriculture, Engineering, Construction or another relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working on infrastructure projects in a design, construction or landowner liaison, agricultural liaison, stakeholder engagement, site engineering or similar role.
- Experience supporting the planning and delivery of linear infrastructure projects would be desirable.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and rural land management.
- An understanding of soil and drainage matters and experience liaising with technical specialists.
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A full driving licence.
