Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant or Residential Property Paralegal to join their Residential Property team in Leatherhead, Surrey.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting fee earners on a busy and varied residential conveyancing caseload while developing their career within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assisting with the management of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion
  • Opening new client files and carrying out conflict checks and ID verification procedures
  • Preparing and maintaining electronic and paper files
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors throughout the transaction process
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documentation
  • Updating and maintaining the firm’s case management system
  • Supporting fee earners with day-to-day case progression
  • Managing post, filing and general administrative duties
  • Ensuring transactions progress efficiently and clients receive excellent service throughout

The Candidate

  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience within a Residential Conveyancing department
  • Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant or Paralegal
  • Strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A professional and confident telephone manner
  • Strong client care skills and a proactive approach to service delivery
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel
  • Experience using legal case management systems, with digital dictation experience being advantageous
  • A motivated and enthusiastic approach with a genuine interest in progressing within residential property law
