The Role
We’re looking for a full-time, on-site Supply Chain Planner based in Huddersfield to plan and manage demand and inventory levels, keeping product available across our foodservice, wholesale, manufacturing and retail channels.
You’ll forecast demand, coordinate production and purchasing plans, monitor stock levels, and adjust plans to hit service and cost targets, working closely with operations, sales and suppliers to resolve supply issues, optimise lead times, and keep our systems accurate. You’ll also generate reports and insights that drive smarter decisions and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
What You’ll Do
- Own demand forecasting for your customers and products, building and maintaining forecast models using input from sales, marketing, finance, manufacturing, foodservice and retail contacts.
- Be the key link between supply chain and the sales/commercial team on all demand planning matters for your category.
- Plan supplier production and shipment capacity in line with our forecast models, agreeing shipment dates with suppliers and tracking progress to keep deliveries on-time-in-full (OTIF) and avoid stock-outs.
- Build multi-level demand forecasts across customer channels and time horizons, reviewing historical trends and demand drivers to refine statistical models.
- Advise the Commercial and buying teams on inventory strategy for existing lines, new product launches, and phase-outs.
- Manage stock holdings within agreed minimum/maximum levels (driven by MOQ), monitoring weekly and escalating promptly if stock risks falling below safety levels.
- Report on performance, producing weekly and monthly updates on pallet holding, service levels, out-of-stocks and planning progress for the wider business.
- Support month-end close, ensuring inbound-related invoices are received, checked and logged on time.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong demand planning skills, forecasting, inventory management and supply planning.
- Solid analytical skills: data analysis, reporting and problem solving.
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP or planning systems and data tools is a plus.
- A relevant qualification in supply chain, business or operations is preferred.
- Experience in foodservice, FMCG or a related sector is beneficial.
- Able to work on-site in Huddersfield, juggle multiple priorities, and keep a sharp eye for detail.
