Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Azure & On-Premises

We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a small, collaborative technology team supporting a hybrid infrastructure environment across Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure.

This is a hands‑on role covering Azure, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, networking, identity, automation and security.

You’ll play a key role in the organisation’s cloud transformation, including the migration of on-premises VMware workloads to Azure and Hyper‑V, while continuing to support and develop the existing on-premises estate.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, deploy and maintain Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
• Support the migration of VMware workloads into Azure IaaS and Hyper‑V.
• Manage on-premises Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Manage Azure networking including VNets, subnets, NSGs, firewalls and hybrid connectivity.
• Support Cisco networking, including switching, routing, VLANs and wireless.
• Develop and maintain Terraform infrastructure‑as‑code and GitHub Actions pipelines.
• Administer Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Entra ID and Intune.
• Support security and governance technologies including Microsoft Purview, Varonis and AvePoint.
• Maintain infrastructure security standards aligned with CIS, NIST, Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001.
• Produce technical documentation and take ownership of infrastructure projects and workstreams.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Strong experience across Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory knowledge.
• Experience with VMware and Hyper‑V.
• Good understanding of Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Experience with Cisco networking.
• Strong Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and SharePoint experience.
• Hands‑on Terraform experience.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD, ideally GitHub Actions.
• Experience working in a security‑conscious or regulated environment.

Desirable

• Azure Landing Zone and Azure Migrate experience.
• Varonis, AvePoint or Microsoft Purview.
• PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Microsoft or Cisco certifications such as AZ-305, MS-102, SC-400, CCNA or CCNP.
