Monitoring Officer & Governance Strategy Lead

South Tyneside Council is seeking an inspirational leader to serve as Monitoring Officer, ensuring governance, legality and ethical conduct across the organisation. Reporting to the Corporate Leadership Team, you will advise Members and senior officers and shape strategic decision-making.

You will lead teams in democratic, information governance and legal affairs, drive continuous improvement, and support the Council’s transformation agenda to become a modern, values-led authority.
