Essential criteria
- Master’s degree or equivalent demonstrable experience at senior level
- Prince 2 or other project management qualification or experience in managing complex programmes
Desirable criteria
- Clinical qualification e.g. nursing or physiotherapy
Skills and abilities
Essential criteria
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent motivational, influencing and negotiating skills, with proven success with clinicians, directors, external organisations and stakeholders
- Proven presentation in a variety of settings with stakeholders and the public/patient involvement representatives
- Organisationally & politically aware
- Able to think strategically and evaluate the long-term impact of proposals
- Excellent analytical skills. Able to analyse reports and complex data, challenge data and act appropriately.
- Competent in use of IT programmes, Microsoft office literate
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience of delivering and managing improvement projects/programmes
- Appropriate years’ experience working at a senior management level in the NHS with operational experience
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience in delivering change programmes and demonstrate measurable improvements
- Experience in delivering service improvements
- Experience in writing reports and business cases
- Experience in analysing and interpreting complex data
- Experience and delivery of elective and non-elective patient activity management
Desirable criteria
- Experience in managing national programmes
- Experience in managing a cancer screening programme
