Care and Support Assistant

Seaview House Private Nursing Home is a small independent nursing home overlooking Ballyholme Bay in Bangor, Co. Down. We are looking for a Care and Support Assistant to join our team. The right candidate must have previous experience working in a nursing home or similar environment. Term time contract available, flexible hours for work/life balance, immediate start.

• To assist in the giving of direct care under the supervision of trained staff.
• To maintain the confidentiality of patients in our care.
• Maintain standards of cleanliness by keeping the patient environment clean (adhering to infection control and health & safety policies).
• Assist with patients hygiene needs e.g. washing/showering/bed-bathing and bathing.
• Assist with dressing; Mouth and eye care.
• Help with toileting/empty urine catheters and commodes.
• Give out meals and drinks to help patients eat and drink.
• Assist patients to mobilize (walk/stand/transfer using aids if required).
• Escort patients as and when required around the home as appropriate.
• Assist patients to be comfortable and safe.
• To be able to recognize changes in patients condition and to report these to the trained nurse.
• To be mindful of and respect patients individuality- holistic approach.
