The Role
We’re recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business based near Toome. This is a varied role combining workshop-based assembly with field service, installation and commissioning of heavy Machinery.
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building machinery from engineering drawings, carrying out installations, commissioning equipment and providing maintenance and after-sales support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both workshop and site-based engineering work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit industrial machinery from engineering drawings and build specifications.
- Prepare, inspect and test machinery prior to dispatch.
- Carry out on-site installation, commissioning and operator training.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete servicing and maintenance at customer sites.
- Provide technical support to customers and the engineering team.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mechanical assembly or field service engineering role.
- Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working on industrial machinery, heavy plant or manufacturing equipment.
- Basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge would be advantageous.
- Time-served Mechanical Engineer or relevant engineering qualification preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland with occasional overnight stays.
