Autism Specialist Assessor (Adults & CYP)

• Pay Rate: £450 – £500 per assessment (dependent on Adult or CYP assessments)
• Delivery Model: Remote or Face-to-Face
• Payment Model: Per Assessment
• Weekly Volume: 8–15 assessments per week
• Combined Autism & ADHD Assessments Available
• Relevant professional qualification in Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, or another registered healthcare profession.
• Current registration with the appropriate professional body (GMC, HCPC, NMC or equivalent).
• Experience conducting Adult and/or CYP Autism diagnostic assessments.
• Formal training and competency in recognised autism assessment tools (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R, or equivalent), where applicable to your profession.
• Strong understanding of DSM-5 and/or ICD-11 diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Experience gathering developmental histories and collateral information from parents, carers, schools and other professionals where appropriate.
• Ability to work autonomously with excellent clinical report writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide sensitive diagnostic feedback.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, clinical governance and confidentiality.
• Confident using electronic patient records and remote consultation platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Adult and/or CYP Autism diagnostic assessments using recognised assessment tools and clinical frameworks.
• Complete developmental history interviews, structured clinical observations and review questionnaires and collateral information.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions and assess for differential diagnoses and co-occurring neurodevelopmental or mental health conditions.
• Produce accurate, evidence-based diagnostic reports and clinical recommendations.
• Deliver diagnostic feedback to patients, parents, carers and referring professionals in a clear, compassionate and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional, organisational and regulatory standards.
• Participate in MDT meetings, clinical supervision and case discussions where required.
• Work in accordance with safeguarding policies, clinical governance and professional standards.
• Support the continued development of high-quality autism assessment services.
