Imperial Recruitment is working with a well-established education provider to appoint a Group Accountant on a six month contract to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role covering management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and year-end reporting, with line management responsibility for a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, timely financial information for the group management accounts pack
- Manage departmental budget review and business partnering for non-curriculum areas
- Lead forecasting of staffing costs, including scenario modelling
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and oversee control account checks
- Line manage three direct reports, including BACS run authorisation
- Support the annual budgeting and planning cycle
- Act as key contact for external auditors and support year-end statements/regulatory returns
- Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC
- Reconcile core funding and monitor cash flow
About You
- CCAB or CIMA qualified
- Grade C/above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Strong experience of management accounts, year-end reporting and audit liaison
- Experience of forecasting, scenario modelling and budget setting
- Line management experience
- Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience desirable
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
