🚨 Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

Permanent | Full-time | Hybrid
I’m recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and growing Building Services & Low Carbon Engineering Consultancy in the Birmingham area.
You’ll work across a varied portfolio of projects including healthcare, education, commercial, residential, industrial, pharmaceutical, public sector and low-carbon/net-zero developments.
The role:
⚙️ Lead the mechanical design on selected projects
Produce calculations, specifications and drawings
Work across projects from concept through to completion
🤝 Attend meetings and work directly with clients
Support and guide junior engineers
Incorporate renewable and low-carbon technologies into designs
Help drive technical excellence across the wider team
What I’m looking for:
✅ 5+ years’ Building Services mechanical design experience
✅ Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering
✅ Strong HVAC and mechanical building services knowledge
✅ Experience delivering projects through multiple design stages
✅ Revit and relevant design software experience
✅ Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and industry standards
✅ CIBSE membership / working towards Chartership advantageous
✅ HTM and BREEAM knowledge beneficial
✅ Confident communicating directly with clients
