A growing B2B financial news service is looking for a dynamic Reporter to break news on the datacentre market.
This financial news service covers the financing, M&A deals and construction processes renewables, energy and digital infrastructure sector. It’s a role where you could build on the sourcing skillset you’ve developed from in your journalism to date, maybe from local news, internships, early career experience or study, in order to find out information that isn’t publicly known.
You will be joining an editorial team with trusted relationships with senior investors, C-suite execs, transaction advisors, investment bankers and private equity fund managers. Working collaboratively alongside senior journalists to build your network, trusted sources and eventually break news that directly shifts financial markets.
By constantly talking to the key players in the datacentre market, you will build a world class contact book and develop deep sector expertise, in order to get insights into the stages of datacentre financing, construction processes and M&A deals. This is a London based role with regular in-person meetings across key financial centres.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate and regularly break news about the datacentre sector, including M&A deals and project financing transactions.
- Supported by senior journalists, develop a strong book of contacts across the key actors in the datacentre sector, creating long-term source relationships.
- Work collaboratively with other reporters to break off-diary stories, and assist with multimedia, events and other editorial work.
Key requirements
- Some experience reporting on business or financial topics and/or a strong grounding and broad knowledge of capital markets.
- Experience investigating a story and cultivating sources, and some examples of exclusive stories.
- Ability to write concisely and accurately.
