Job Description
Choice Teachers is currently seeking a passionate, dedicated, and resilient SEN Tutor to join a vibrant educational setting in Stevenage. While this is primarily a full-time role (37 hours per week), we are very happy to consider part‑time applications for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for an educator who specialises in Special Educational Needs and wants to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys, personal growth, and independence. You will be working closely with learners who require tailored support, adapting learning materials to suit individual needs and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted 1-to-1 and small group tuition tailored to students with diverse SEN requirements (such as ASC, MLD, SLD, or SEMH).
- Adapt curriculum content and teaching styles to suit individual learning paces and communication needs.
- Collaborate effectively with support staff, subject teachers, and senior leadership to monitor student progress.
- Manage behaviour positively and create a safe, engaging, and welcoming learning atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate records of student engagement, achievement, and developmental milestones.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previous experience supporting or teaching students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a school, college, or alternative provision.
- Relevant teaching, tutoring, or specialist support qualifications (e.g., QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or relevant SEN qualifications).
- Strong communication, patience, and adaptability.
- Available to start immediately on a full-time or flexible part-time basis.
