Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Location: Please note that whilst were happy to offer this role on a remote basis, there will be travel required to the North of England (Stockport) for monthly off-sites and infrequent travel to Kettering (annual conference, new employee welcome).

The purpose of the role
As EL/PL/OL Solicitor you will be responsible for all Fast Track EL/PL/OL cases that drop out of the MOJ portal, assessing liability and taking a pro-active approach to litigation where necessary. You will be responsible for managing the process efficiently, whilst securing the maximum win for both the consumer and the business.
What you’ll be doingProgress pre-issue claims into litigation as quickly as possible, drawing on your advanced technical knowledgeWork closely with other teams to ensure a smooth handover for the clientDraft particulars of claim and other case documentation professionally and accuratelyUnderstand the fast-track claims process and identify opportunities to maximise revenue where appropriateMeet strict court deadlinesApply strong working knowledge of CPR rules and relevant case lawAttend conferences, hearings and case management conferences (CMCs) as requiredInstruct Counsel or experts where neededSupport other teams and act as a referral point for complex queriesMake file closure decisions, ensuring files are closed appropriately and on timePersonalise every client interaction with empathy and understandingListen to and assess each client’s case, supporting them through the later stages of their claimMaintain client engagement by providing clear, informed adviceKeep your market knowledge current so your skills stay relevant
What you’ll bringExperience of handling non-portal claims from drop out to litigation to settlementAbility to handle a mixed caseload of denied and admitted claimsProven ability to handle own caseload, adhering to strict SLAsExperience of managing risk to make commercially sound decisionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience of analysing and interpret information to make decisionsStrong IT competenceExcellent customer service skillsStrong track record of billing
