Location: UK – Multiple LocationsIndustry: HV Transmission & DistributionScope of Work: An exciting opportunity for a Civil Resident Setting Out Engineer to join a busy Electrical Transmission team in delivering key substation projects across the UK, working with clients like National Grid and SSE.

Turner Lovell is currently recruiting for a Civil Resident Setting Out Engineer to join a leading grid connection contractor. You will play a crucial role in supporting the Civil Site Manager, making sure everything on site runs smoothly, safely, and on time. You will be hands-on with planning, design, and construction, helping keep things on track and up to standard.
In this role you will:Set out civil works: RC foundations, drainage, ducting, earthworks, roads, fencingSupport site and project managers in meeting key design and build milestonesReview and advise on Temporary Works; assist TWC/TWS throughout project lifecyclePrepare handover documents, H&S files, and inspection plansResolve on-site design issues and manage change control (TQs/RFIs)Coordinate as-built drawings and ensure timely client submissionAttend design/coordination meetings and support tender planning
The ideal profile is someone who has:3+ years’ experience in surveying/setting outCivil Engineering degree or equivalentExperience in electrical transmission/distribution preferredCSCS card and full UK xrnqpay driving licence requiredFamiliar with NG Transmission Procedures and BS5975 Temporary WorksStrong communication and relationship-building skillsConfident with Microsoft Office, databases, and CADGood understanding of technical specifications and supplier requirements
