Interim appointment for a minimum of 6 months

Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Head of Catering to lead Catering and Retail Services across our hospital sites.
n
n
This senior leadership role is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality and customer-focused catering services for patients, staff and visitors, while driving service improvement, workforce development, financial performance and regulatory compliance.
n
n
We’re looking for someone with:
n
✅ Significant experience leading catering, hospitality or food service operations within a large, complex organisation
n
✅ Strong leadership, people management and change management experience
n
✅ Advanced Food Hygiene (Level 4 Food Safety) and HACCP Level 3 qualifications
n
✅ Experience operating within a regulated, budget-controlled environment with responsibility for financial performance and resource management
n
✅ Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n

What you’ll do:

- n
- Lead Catering and Retail Services across GMS
- Drive service improvement and transformation
- Ensure compliance with food safety, nutritional and quality standards
- Develop and support motivated and engaged teams
- Manage budgets, resources and supplier relationships to deliver sustainable value-for-money services within a publicly funded healthcare environment
- Work collaboratively with clinical and operational colleagues
- Contribute as a member of the GMS Senior Management Team
