Accountancy Assistants are responsible for assisting in the provision of a comprehensive Accountancy Service to all areas of the Council. Areas include Departmental Revenue and Capital expenditure, Common Good, Trust Funds, and other bodies connected to the Council.
n
All Accountancy Assistants deliver training on the use of the Council’s General Ledger.
n
Specific areas of responsibility will be identified by the Management Team and may be changed periodically.

The Individualn
A proven UK accountancy work experience
n
3 SQA Highers at level 3 or above including Maths or equivalent.
n
Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office software and computerised ledger systems.
n
Self confident and self motivated.
n
Ability to work to deadlines.
n
Flexible attitude to work allocation.
n
Ability to accurately record data.
n
Ability to work as part of a team.
n
Effective communication skills.
n
Appreciation, acceptance of and a commitment to the importance of confidentiality.
n
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service.
n
Ability to work in an open plan office/ homeworking.
n
Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements.
