We’re recruiting on behalf of a friendly and welcomingGP Practice in South Shields and the surrounding areas, seeking an experiencedMedical Receptionist/Administratorto join their busy team on a full-time, ongoing temporary basis. There is also thepotential for a permanent positionfollowing a successful trial period.
This is abusy, call centre-style reception role, so you’ll need to be confident handling a high volume of patient calls while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Managing a high volume of incoming patient calls professionally and efficiently
- Greeting patients and visitors with a warm and friendly approach
- Booking, amending and managing GP appointments
- Responding to patient enquiries by phone and email
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
- Processing patient registrations and relevant documentation
- Supporting the practice with general administrative duties, including scanning, filing and data entry
- Working closely with clinicians and the wider practice team to ensure the smooth running of the surgery
- Previous experience working within anNHS GP Surgery
- Essential:Working knowledge ofEMIS
- Experience in a busy reception or high-volume call handling environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
- Good IT skills and experience using electronic patient record systems
- A professional, reliable and proactive approach to work
- Immediate start available
- Competitive hourly rate of14.24 – 14.68
- Full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)
