We are looking for a Support Worker required to work with a delightful young girl aged 15 years with cerebral palsy, in Aberdare. The Client likes spending time with family, watching TV, playing with her noisy toys, going to school, youth club and Sunday school. She loves going on days out with the family, going on rides, and enjoys horse-riding, swimming, colouring, drawing, and playing board games.

What you’ll be working:

Full-time, part-time and bank hours are available to cover the following: up to 144 hours over a 4-week period on a flexible basis. Positions include day/waking nights and/or sleep-in night shifts Monday – Sunday 9.30 pm – 09.30 am.

What you’ll have:

  • A recognised Health and Social Care qualification (QCF Level 2 or above) is desirable.
  • Some experience of caring for children with learning, physical and communication difficulties is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
  • A full driving licence is desirable – the Client has their own vehicle which you would drive, but it is not essential to have a licence as shifts are worked on a 2:1 basis.
  • Competent IT skills are desirable.
  • This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
  • You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.

*Female applicants only due to the nature of personal care required.

*This post is compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 relating to Occupational Requirements.

You will be employed directly by the client; however, Westcountry Case Management oversee all aspects of the clients care package on his behalf.
