Cover Supervisor – Blackburn

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a cover supervisor, who is looking for a long term role in a Secondary school in the Blackburn area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in September 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged with set work
• Providing instructions and clarifying tasks where required
• Recording attendance and reporting any concerns
• Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
• Supporting pupils to complete assigned work independently
• Providing clear handover feedback to teaching staff

Pre-requisites:

• Previous UK secondary school experience
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to lead lessons independently
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred
