At St Peter & St James Hospice, we believe in providing exceptional care and support to those affected by life-limiting illnesses. As Housekeeping Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our hospice, ensuring a safe and comforting space for patients, families, and staff.
- Location: St Peter & St James Hospice, NorthCommon Rd, North ChaileyBN8 4ED
- Working hours: 22.5 hour a week over 5 days (4.5 hours an afternoon)

This is a Permanent , Part Time vacancy.
What You’llDo:
- Cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and offices to a high standard.
- Using a variety of cleaning methods and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and infection control procedures are followed.
- Maintaining patient dignity and privacy at all times.
- Supporting the wider team in creating a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles (desirable but not essential).
- Good literacy, numeracy, and understanding of health and safety.
- A flexible, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
- Organised and able to work to deadlines.

People affected by life-limiting illness are central to everything we do and it is our mission to ensure they receive the best possible care, in the right place, at the right time. Our services are free of charge and can be accessed at home, in a care setting, or at the Hospice in North Chailey.
