PrioryHospital Market Weighton has an opportunity for a chef to join ourteam. This role is offered on a Part Time basis working 24 hoursper week.
Based in East Yorkshire, PrioryHospital Market Weighton is a level 2 rehabilitation hospital foradult males, offering bespoke and flexible therapeutic programmewith therapies focused on stabilisation, skill acquisition,personal development, community integration, and developingcompetence and confidence in living skills.
We also have close links to Priory Adult Care communityservices to develop discharge pathways out of thehospital.
What you’ll bedoing
You’ll be part of a dedicatedand compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smoothrunning of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of ourpatients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care,your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe,comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you’reassisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, orensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays animportant part in creating a positive experience for those who liveand work here.
- Undertakes theplanning, preparation and cooking of meals, taking account of anyspecial requests or dietary requirements within theunit.
- Ensuring operational standards complywith the company’s Food Safety policies and guidelines andstatutory regulations.
- Takes full shiftresponsibility for the catering operation (in the absence of theHead Chef).
- Ensures the cost-effective andefficient control of stock including placing orders for foodproducts and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries.

Whatyou’ll bring to therole
Essential for therole
- NVQ Level 2 inCatering (or equivalent) and a Basic Food Hygienequalification.
- Previous experience working ina professional kitchen.
- Experiencepreparing meals for large groups to a highstandard.
- Knowledge of food safety,hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent organisation and time managementskills.
- Strong communication skills withthe ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for delivering high-quality food and excellentcustomer service.
The following experience wouldbe beneficial
- Experience catering within a healthcare, care home orsimilar setting.
- Knowledge of specialistdiets, including dysphagia, allergens and therapeuticdiets.
- Experience ordering stock andcontrolling food costs.
- Experiencesupervising or supporting kitchen staff.
- Menu planning and creating nutritious, varied meals tomeet dietary and cultural needs.
