Payroll Officer

Reed are currently working with a well-established Accountancy firm in a friendly and supportive team based in Chester. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to manage a diverse portfolio of client payrolls. This role reports directly to the Payroll Manager and involves the timely and accurate processing of various payroll frequencies.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Responsible for the processing of high-volume weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls for multiple small to medium-sized clients.
- Ensure accurate and timely submissions of RTI and handle auto-enrolment procedures.
- Process statutory payments and manage year-end procedures.
- Address and resolve client payroll queries effectively.
- Collaborate closely with clients to ensure their payroll needs are met.
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and confidentiality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in payroll, within a bureau or Accountancy Practice environment.
- Ability to manage multiple payrolls with varying frequencies and complexities.
- Strong knowledge of pensions and auto-enrolment.
- Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
