Employment Associate – Birmingham
Simpson Judge have partnered with a highly regarded national law firm seeking to appoint an ambitious Employment Associate (1+ PQE) to join its growing team in Birmingham.

The Role
You will work as part of a busy and experienced employment team, advising clients across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Your work is likely to include:
- Advising employers on day-to-day employment law and HR issues.
- Managing Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to hearing.
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, settlement agreements and other employment documentation.
- Advising on disciplinaries, grievances, dismissals, discrimination, whistleblowing and redundancy processes.
- Supporting clients on the employment aspects of corporate transactions and restructurings.
- Working closely with senior lawyers and clients on complex and commercially sensitive matters.
- Developing strong client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the Birmingham practice.
The role will offer a significant level of responsibility, while providing the support and supervision needed to continue developing your technical and commercial skills.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 1 year’s post-qualification experience in employment law.
- Experience handling a mixture of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
- Strong technical ability and excellent attention to detail.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to client service.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career within a leading national practice.
